I wear scarves a lot…I will throw one on with about anything, and most times of the year. I find them to be endlessly enchanting…..they add a lovely twist of lure to about any part of the day.
I can put on the simplest thing….and then a scarf thrown around my neck, or just off my shoulders…suddenly I feel…..more pulled together, more me, more poetic…..my outfit is able to go to a more artistic place….
……and that makes me feel like heaven on earth.

Don’t you just adore contrasts… in fashion… in life! I love feeling fabulous in an artful outfit that stirs all my senses…. A bit Frenchy… a tad BOHEMIAN…perhaps sweet… most certainly CONFIDENT!! The most important rule (..I’m usually not about rules, you know…) for me… is to TRY. Why not!! Play around… see how pieces layer together.. do you feel smashing?….. are you comfortable (so key in my world)…is there a little edge…. A little mystery!

Ahhhh…the pretty lip! Women pay oodles for them….I am more of an au naturel sort of a girl…but I will tell you I do have a few juicy tips that have carried my lips over the years!
…and share them I will…..!
Pretty Lips …
~ Darlings…protect them first and foremost….keep them out of the sun, keep them covered with and spf…and keep a chapstick in your pocket day and night, chapped lips are tough to make pretty!!
~ Liner….don’t overuse it….it is just not pretty when the inner color is gone and you are walking around with a big ring around your mouth….never a good look, so go easy on it!
~ Liner …DO’s….Do blend it, do use an inner color that feels similar.
~ Add some pout…a bit of shine on the upper and lower middle lip…and then a bit of very light highlight right on the pout…I use my lightest eye shadow..works like a dream!
~ I adore a daring raspberry pink in the summer months…but go easy on the eyes ….to much is too much….
~ I use oil of olay combination cloths to clean my face, I always use the rough side on my lips as well…a little exfoliation is good.
~ Drink water……all day long!!!
~ Eat well…and you will find pretty skin. I had had horrid tenage acne for many years, so eating well has always been good for me!

A pretty ring…just makes a girl smile. I have always told my husband John no pricey jewelry for me, would rather have a tree or critter. But…”play rings”….those are good! ( I’m talking the don’t break the bank or take out a loan to get one sort of a ring!)…..A ring you buy for yourself…!
I love a pretty ring in the summer …just seems so fitting. Flirty, colorful…bedazzling little numbers that make your digits sparkle. Even the simplest outfit can benefit from a shiny bauble…..even unpainted nails find their inner soul from a glamorous fit of otherworldly bliss. So…go on…find your inner summer girl…the one that loves the poetry and song of swank!…and put a ring on that finger!!!

Don’t you find it entirely freeing some days… just to layer on a little extra jewelry. Sometimes the most simple outfit (I joke that my uniform has become black leggings, the Tempest Vintage Biker Boots…and any easy-going top that covers my bum)… can brought to life with a little vintage spice. Why-ever NOT!! Do throw on a few cocktail rings (I have so many from over the years… inexpensive baubles mixed in with heirloom pieces that I still savor)… I actually find absolute delight in finding them randomly in my own magpie nest (on the kitchen windowsill a few days after the dishes are done…. In my car’s cup holder… at the bottom of my purse – remnants from stripping down at airport security + forgetting to slide them back on…. and the list goes on).
Collect. Live. Layer.

Summer makes me so happy. Like a locked up lark…I am divinely delighted to get outside and soak up all things nature. I think we all change our habits a bit in summer…we loosen…we slow…..we take our time in so many ways to look….. and drink in…and just……be. The laze of an alluring hammock beckons me to ditch my shoes…grab a book and wander dreamily into my summertime state of mind. I even change my beauty habits a bit…thought I would share!
