Happy Thanksgiving to All!!!
Find Time For You This Holiday Season….and the little things you love!
I have shared my love of all things holiday with you guys…it seems to be part of my DNA! I do run into all the same pressures that you do…the ticking clock, the planning of meals and gatherings….the lists…..the excitement while lovely, can certainly leave you a bit….well…simply put, drained!!! I can always tell when I need to take a moment and squeeze in some time for me or some quiet brain time…I can find this in all sorts of ways..thought I would share some of my thoughts with you…and please do tell me….what you do…we would all love to know how you manage your time over the holidays?!!!…
Cheers…Peace & Love!!
xo,
T.

My thoughts on managing the holiday hoopla!
* I order most of my gifts online from the comfort of my lovely red folly…. (my library) cup of tea in hand, I navigate with no sweat, no stress and no back breaking bags!
* I always take in a movie or two over the holiday season with my lovely man at my side.
* I decorate our house…slooooowly….and I enjoy every tiny morsel of that time.
* I keep the house smelling fabulous with mulling spices in wine or cider…. I love, love, love this smell!!!
* My husband John and I always set aside some nights just for us to go out and have appetizers and a glass of wine..then a slow spin around the bookstore…so good!
* Send cards only if it truly makes you happy to. I do love to send them, but I send far less now than I did years ago….(getting wiser!)
* When I wrap presents…It is always at night. I put on wonderful music, pour a glass of wine… I go slowly. I try to wrap each gift in an inspired, but not exhausting way.
* I always like to go for high tea at least once each holiday. (three tiers of desserts and little fancy sandwiches….kind of puts me over the top!)

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
I now have my very own “herd” of Dear Hearts –time in the pasture with Little Moo, Taffy, Charlie & Ralphie clears my head and refills my heart.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!! Thanks for all your ideas, we enjoy seeing them!
Happy Thanksgiving Tracy and lovely blogette’s!! Love how you savor every moment and just enjoy where you’re at
Tracy,
The picture of the beautiful winter scene gave me such peace when I saw it! Thanks so much for that little bit of beauty!
Your suggestions are wonderful! I am a huge fan of on-line shopping and it has made the world of difference to reducing the stress of shopping!
Can I add a few more:
- give yourself permission to turn down invitations unless they make your heart sing!
- visit small, local shops where people know your name and appreciate your support – always makes me feel good!
- wine!
- It’s a Wonderful Life – I know it may be sappy to some, but my goodness it makes me cry with gratitude that someone even dreamed up a George Bailey!
- wine (can you say one word too much!)
- a good trudge in the woods or a local park does the soul a world of good.
- wine!!!
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Just returning from the Thanksgiving festivities at my parents’ home…our children just tumbled into bed…popped in just to visit and there was your Thanksgiving Day message, Tracy! My goodness – didn’t expect one from you today, but you’ve got the spirit so right with your emphasis on delighting in whatever it is that needs to be done. So many good ideas – I second the idea of getting outside during this magical time of year – it just puts everything into wonderful perspective.
Tonight, my husband and I are actually going outside, in the darkness, to plant lavender by the light of the moon (and our spotlight). It’s getting late in the season and we have potted ones that need to be nestled in – maybe it sounds crazy but it’s a bit of a “date” and I’ll take it!
Thanksgiving blessings to everyone…
Your plan on “managing” the holidays sounds perfect! I think I’ll toss mine out the window and start doing things the “Tracy” way!

My Son and family will be over tomorrow to hook up my Karaoke…then we are off to Steak and Shake for a bite and then to see the new movie Blind Side….true story…go to Rave Theater.com and watch the movie trailer for this movie….I tried to paste it in but it wouldnt work….you have to see it!!!! I told my husband not to be surprised when I do this!!
Happy Holidays Tracy! I think you have the key word. . “slooooowly” . . for doing anything holiday. It’s not always so easy to keep a slower pace when things start hoppin’, but I am trying to savor the moments of each day leading up to Christmas. Like you, I’m shopping on line, having a light glass of wine in the afternoon with my husband while we pour over our dreams, and letting our house & holiday decor evolve organically and slowly. I do have to remember to take a moment for just me, too, like stopping by your blog Miss Tracy– which is like eating chocolate! Plus we have your radio show to look forward to on Wednesday. {I hope I can call in to say hi}. Lots of good simple things are all around for the taking. Enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend and “see” you on Wednesday! : ) Karla
What a lovely post, Tracy! Yes, slow down and take time for this most wonderful time of year. A great reminder for all of us! Cheers!
Yes this is a GRAND post!! I think a hot bubble bath at least once a week , by candlelight, to rinse away that stress is key…
neighborhood walks at night to enjoy lights and walk the dog….
egg nog, fires in the fireplace…a couple of good books on the nightstand….time for antiquing-WITH NO MISSION- all soothe the soul too!!!
Hugs!
And YES looking forward to the radio program Wed..
Rebecca love your moonlight planting date!!!!
A perfect list, one mostly like my own. The other suggestions are great too. It’s the most important thing, to focus on what really matters.
