Do you ever...

* Send a letter to someone who doesn't get much mail? Talk about feel good!

* Put Snickers bars into the freezer and then cut them into thin little slices? Ooohhhhhhhh.

* Buy a cool jacket and also use it like a blazer? (This is what I love about our Modern Vintage Coat...) Hello, pretty!

* Make your own IN & OUT list? When I was a teenager "W" magazine did these... I always loved doing my own just for fun!

* Order a birthday cake for someone in the shape of a wedding cake? (One 8" circle, with one 6" circle on top... Charming!!)

* Send a thank you note, just because?

* Give a new coffee table book to a friend who may be coveting it?

* Keep a stash of perfectly sharpened pencils on your desk at home or at work? (No idea why this inspires me, but alas... it does!)

* Add splashes of color to your home with new accessories? Throws, pillows, lanterns... easy, quick... and who doesn't love that??

I like to send a thank you note to my mother in law on my husband's birthday, just thanking her for him - gets her every time...I think she is just as wonderful as your mother in law sounds.

Coffee table books - my friend wanted the Chanel: Collections and Creations book thank you for reminding me to order it for her.

Out of curiosity who are your favorite designers? who inspire you?

Hi Stepanie....I loved your thoughts!! I e-mail/call my mother in law on John's b.day as well....i love that you do! Sounds like you hvae an amazing mother-in-law...we are two lucky women! I always tell her what an amazing job she did raising her lovely son!! I think it's a very sweet thing to do! oh, the Chanel collections book sounds good, i need to check it out.....hmm...favorite designers...many....coco chanel is one of them! I love the history and stories of the designers that were aroung in the 30's and 40's.....Elsa shiapperelli etc. i think individuals inspire me more than the designers...women that are creative or interesting.....from Diana Vreeland to Oprah....

When you talk about the "in and out" list are you referring to clothing?

I actually laughed out loud when I read the "snickers in the freezer" -- too weird-- I have had them in there for about a year and they weren't getting eaten so just last week I decided to unwrap all of them along with the old Halloween chocolate candies we had (the kiddos forgot about it so I hid them) put them all in a jar by the front door and its like the mystery chocolate candy game!

Grapes in the freezer are wonderful too!

I would love to comment on the new videos: I love the purse ideas, especially hot gluing too funny- a woman after my own heart. I would have loved to have seen more unusual ideas for the centerpiece, very nice but very basic. I think alot of your visitors are extremely creative so bring on the funky stuff! Loved the dining room (sitting)inspiration. I actually talked my husband into moving our dining table into the den for a very intimate setting and turning the dining room into a sitting room after watching that video. So we are completely swapping rooms. Just have to figure out the internet connections. Why not? Thanks for always inspiring us!
