Glistening mirrors

Sarah's house is charming top to bottom. She too has little ones running about... so we are in constant conversation about what works in our homes and what does not. Eternally on the hunt for more little sparklers to add to her abode, she has developed a weakness for mirrors. They add such a nice warmth to all the spaces in her home. Recently, one of her little gems was the perfect solution to a dilemma her children were having in one of her bathrooms. Always tripping over the footstool that was plunked down in front of the sink (so they'd be at mirror height to see their pearly-whites while brushing)... she thought it would be fun to hang a mirror right behind the faucet. No more need for the footstool! (Ah, bliss!) And, the setting is even more charming! Kids are happy... the momma is happy!!!

Sarah, This is true magic. What has taken all us mom's so long to do this? No more dangerous stool flipping and a great look!
So glad you think so... mirrors for me are such a great "cheat"... my tiny cottage needs them everywhere because it gives the illusion of more space. The way I've used these petite mirrors in the powder rooms is a "double bonus" because it really is a great thing for my son + daughter. Tracy's sister-in-law, Annie just commented that she's going to do the same thing in her bathroom because her 4-year-old son "has never even seen his own reflection"... we laughed so hard!!! What a fun thing for the kids - its decorating taylored to their needs. (oh, and a ridiculous side-note... since I took these photos... I've added a few more mirrors to my space - just couldn't help myself... check out a few of them from our Spring Mix: Both the "Sunburst Mirror" and the set of three "Mirror, mirror" have found a place in our cozy home). Enjoy + be inspired! Happy weekend! Sarah
Sarah, thanks for sharing with us! :) I too LOVED the idea of putting mirrors at your child's height.....what a great idea. I wish I would have thought of that many years ago. My "little ones" are now all teenagers.
Sarah, such great ideas. I'm new to Tracy's blog (but not the lovely books and products) and love everything you all share here. I'm going to go out and find some little mirrors - what a great idea. I like the green paint and wonder if you'd share what color/brand/finish is is? I'm also looking for a nice white paint - your favorite? Thanks so much.
