I am so glad you like them...Io figured it would help if you could see them on...I am also thinking we need to show our things on more sizes of women as we all come in different shapes and sizes and that is what makes us all so fabulous...we will try do do that as well. Dear anonymous, I'm sorry you missed those, we don't have them anymore( the bunnies etc) but we left that video up as so many found it inspiring....I know you can buy neat vintage ones like those but a wee bit $$ sometimes, also check out places like Hobby Lobby for treasure( do you have those?) sometimes if you pull a bunny off the shelf and put it into a creative landscape ( as I know you guys would) it will work.... often times on the shelves they really look cheap and gunky. Is this making sense....It's all about editing!!

Katie, my friend! I am waiting oh so patiently for you to blog about the MD Forte cleanser. I bought a bottle the other day. I think I like it. I say that I think I like it because I've only used it for a few day so far. I have a few break outs but I think that sometimes happens when you switch products. Do you think this is so? It's really creamy and I like the way it leaves my skin feeling. I can't wait to hear your input.

Hope y'all are blessed with a wonderful weekend!
Hugs!

Anonymous katie said...

I'm here!! Whew, it is a week (we are re-modeling our bathroom and alas, I have had to trade my glass of wine and blog each night for dry wall and tub installation... not a fair trade if you ask me!!!) Very excited to be in the middle of it though!

Let me get caught up with you...

CC - so glad you picked up the cleanser - yes, my skin adjusted briefly to it as well--this is normal I think whenever you switch up the routine. You should start to notice results in the softness of yoru skin - that is where I noticed immediate results - love this stuff! Also, I would go with their lotion if you need one - it has the Glycolic compound which does great things for the clarity of the skin and fine lines!! Good stuff here! You must keep us posted!!

My new makeup gig that I am doing this week (in the hopes of spring!!) is taking my trish mcevoy bronzer and using the hightlight portion of it as an eyeshadow - gives a nice shimmer on the lid! Very pretty and then take the embark shadow and touch it to the corners of your eyes - gives a great almond shape!

melissa - have you tried some hot rollers - they will give you a great boost in volume - just be sure to start wrapping the hair around them about 2" away from your roots - this gives you more volume on top verses at the ends!

I hope you all have been having a fantastic week!! Here's to a wonderful & Happy Easter!

xoxo, Katie

I think I missed out on all the cleanser talk. What's this product (Katie and CC) are currently discussing? I am looking for a good one.

Katie, I actually don't even own any hot rollers. I usually just use a 1 1/2" curling iron or my Velcro rollers for volume. But you like hot rollers, huh? Well, maybe I need to give those a shot! Seems they would actually take less time then the iron.

So Virginia, how did your friend like the TP votives? Did you give them ALL away?

March 20, 2008
Anonymous CC said...

Katie!!! So happy to hear from you. Please, let us know how your bathroom renovations turn out. Can we possibly see pics????

March 20, 2008
Anonymous artist said...

Melissa, no new invention of any sort does the job of hot rollers. Put them in, apply your makeup, take them out and fix your hair. It's that quick and easy and you'll have LOTS of volume.

March 21, 2008
Anonymous Virginia said...

Melissa - hot rollers are in my head as we speak. Glad to hear from Katie - and her tip about where to begin wrapping them. I always tried to get my ends so perfect: no more! I have to confess that I kept the votives. They fit in my decor oh just "too beautifully" - and isn't that their name? Thankfully I have until end of April to find another gift. The cleanser CC & Katie are talking about is MD Forte (sp???). You get it online. I need one too but the products (I, II, etc.) overwhelm me. So many choices! I need a salesperson to tell me what I need. Katie - maybe YOU can clarify for us?

Gals what Virginia is not saying is that her hot curlers are in her RED hair. Oh yes, our Virginia is now a glamorous redhead!! You go girl!!

March 21, 2008
Anonymous katie said...

Here's the gig with MD Forte - i agree it took me a while to sort thru their whole gig - they could definitely make it easier for us!! You kind of need to figure out where your skin is at... for example, for me right now, I am literally focused on sunblock, and any preventative measures I can take along with evening out the skin tone, so I use a 1. Now, I would say if you want to try and minimize fine wrinkles, etc, you might want to go with a level 2, which has more of the age fighting goodies in it! All I currenlty use is their cleanser in a level 1 and their lotion, also in the level 1. They do have targeted products for the under eye, etc. but i have not tried them... the only thing is, their lotion does not have an SPF in it, so you need to use something that does... (hence the smashbox primer for me!!)

Melissa - I used to be a total curling iron girl myself - I still love using one - but it does take more time... If you can go for a more imperfect look, hot rollers are the way to go! So easy to use!!

Virginia--glad you kept the votives--they are beautiful!!! Sorry - i must have missed - who is your gift for? I can tell you some of our favorites on the site... get the gift giving jucies flowing if it would help!! Let me know!!

Gosh, Katie - awesome. This is for my stepmom who 1) is only 9 years older and 2) an interior designer and 3) travels the world: ahhhh. 4) Lives in a 100 year old GORGEOUS home in CT and has TP hand-painted chairs in her kitchen from 10 years ago! (Stonehouse Farm Goods...) Any ideas would be so helpful.
Artist - you are telling secrets that only my hairdresser should know. She did go a little heavy on the "red." Eeeegads...

Virginia, I want in on the pictures. Your stepmothers house sounds just to die for. She sounds like the lady who has it all!

Also, I want to see the red hair as well. I'm sure it's gorgeous. I'm dying to know what my lovely Tracy ville gals look like. You all have seen my picture on my site, I'm sure. Actually, Virginia, I'm pretty sure yours is on your site as well, sans the red hair:)

ok, so I'm on the MD Forte website. That is a great price for a cleanser. Honestly, I was expecting it to be much higher...considering the company I am in here;)

Katie, what lotion do you use...the Facial Lotion or the Cream? My cleanser and lotion is about to run out, and I am not too happy with it. So this couldn't have come up at a better time.

As far as the hot rollers go... you all have talked me into it. I will be investing in a set soon. I shall have my hair rolled the "katie" way then do the messy bun!

Thanks gals for ALL these great tips!

Whoa baby....I've been away too long! Love, love, love all of the life in here!!!

Melissa, get the cleaner and let us know your thoughts. I had to use it a while (about a week) to notice anything. And, to be honest what I notice probably isn't noticeable at all. :) I really love the way it makes my skin feel....it feels smoother and honestly I think it is helping with a more even skin tone. Thanks to Katie I think I've found my new favorite cleanser. Now....to figure out which moisturizer would be best for me. ;)

Hi All!
Hope you had a great weekend!! We took several days off to be with family..and it was spectacular!( mind you a mini blizzard hit us, and maybe you?)....A very full house....many....kids on the loose...chocolate bunnies smushed into everything...Gus eating more jelly beans than legal for his age. ( bao beans...as he call them). The easter grass residue is everywhere...but you know what, I'll take it! All of it, it is just such treasured time to be with family over a long weekend! I adore every single minute of it!!!
So..... a few questions I have not gotten to, thanks as always for your patience...I will always try my best to get to any questions as quickly as I am able to.....you know the balance ( we are all walking it !) So if I sometimes seem a few days late or i am away with family or tardy in getting back to you, please know I will get there....I will!!!!
* the paint color in front of the wall near the drapes is a rich sexy chocolate brown, very dark....all the walls near the dark indigo are the same, the staircase high gloss delicious black!! I just love it!
the foyer will be an eventual video, and the book list will come as well. I don't have them in a time line to share though. Thanks so much for your passionate questions...your need to know....this is why we like each other so much!! We are truly the same creatures!
p.s. love all the chatter....hot rollers are a must for quickie great hair, five minutes in and out, no kidding! check out the ones that heat in 90 seconds, several brands do! OH...BTW... Virginia...red hair is my favorite hair color!

Hi girls!! Wow, Virginia, you were not kidding - it sounds like your stepmom truly has it all!!! Based on that, I would go with some of our items that truly have a great story behind them... for example, if she has our original stonehouse farm chairs, you could not go wrong with the snappy oversized tray - handpainted with a modern twist on our beloved stonehouse farm collection! Or, for serving pieces... go for the August Coq serving bowl - your stepmom may remember our beloved Clyde - this is the most recent version of Tracy's beloved rooster - very endearing story of how Tracy & John nursed Clyde back to health over a long WI winter... of course, you could do a great jewelry piece - depending on her taste, I know Tracy always receives compliments on the Wooden Cocktail Ring everytime she wears it...or, I have to say one of my all time favorites is the Messenger of Dreams Necklace - very, very beautiful in person...I have been literally drooling over this piece since last fall (the pendant is of hermes - the messanger of luck!!)!!

I use the lotion #1 for the day and in winter, the replenishing cream, as our winters can get bitterly dry!!

Hello to the T.P.fellow bloggers.I am new to your group and need your help. What is appropriate to wear to an outdoor highshcool graduation? I am in my mid fifites and find the age appropiate attire for certain functions really challenging with an interest to look current, but not too youthful. Would love your input, or maybe Tracy's summer catalog will have just what I need. We live in Maine and the graduation will be held along a drop dead gorgeous rocky coastline. Am a big fan of the T.P line. Thanks for your help.

Hi Mamere156--welcome! I completely understand - the graduation outfit is always a tricky one. Here is what I think would look great! I'd do a couple different things depending on the weather... First, you could not go wrong with the Avignon Tunic - great lime green with crisp white - perfect to dress up or down. You could cinch the waist with a belt for a more tailored look. it would be beautiful with our Suddenly Gorgeous earrings, wide leg pants and a pair of heels. Or, our Modern vintage coat would look great worn as a blazer (tie the belt in the back). Pair it with a pair of great pants (I'm a fan of dark, dark demin any color would work and a shirt and you are all set! The coloring on those two items really makes any complexion look wonderful! Of course, that said, we have some outstanding items coming out in our summer book that would also be wonderful... Let us know how it turns out!!

Two of the walls are choc. brown and the other 2 are artichoke...simply divine! Warm rich...oh....the problem is now I need to do big heavy timbers across the ceiling, big delicious beams....you see this is what happens...it is so much fun and...never ending.....although you homeowners all know this already!
OH!!! MAMERE!! welcome home!.... My....a reunion! Well, you simply must knock their socks off, go " wild and wayward shoes"...and a spicy sexy top ......think "surrender" with black pants or white flare pants, a gold cuff , a cocktail ring.......and they will be giving you the up and down. ( you know the eyes they don't want you to see....but you know they are!!!) Reunions are just too much fun....I could not stop laughing at mine...I was just giddy....too much fun seeing all those people again!

Mamere 156, Hi welcome to Tracyville. I am also your age and am often looking for the right thing to wear for such events. Personally, I love the modern vintage coat with all the embroidery. If you wore that with a good pair of pants that fit well it would be smashing. I would wear it with Filigree Locket but any of the gold jewelry would be wonderful. That coat is so NOW in a vintage way. Have fun.
