Do you ever...

* Take a big mug of coffee or tea into the bathroom with you in the morning to gingerly sip while you are getting ready?
* Work out in the AM so it is out of the way? (And perhaps watch a little Joe Scarborough... or yesterday's episode of Oprah??)
* Spoil yourself on Sunday by lounging, leisurely cooking with your family, reading a good book, etc?
* Take a bath with a glass of wine, light some candles, and listen to great music during the middle of the week?
* Splurge on a really great pair of jeans that are the perfect fit for you?
* Look forward to a good rainy day and a bottomless cup of tea or coffee?
* Make a summer to do list of all the things you want to do?

I have to work out in the a.m. or I don't do it. Often my glass of wine comes with me to my tub full of bubbles (or Epsom salts). Do you ever take a book and slip outside for 15 minutes to revel in it and a bit of Vitamin D?
P.S. I have a very similar vignette on my counter. An antique, precious tiny silver bowl filled with my Equal, etc. Another smallish glass pitcher with tea bags for hubby, loose sugar in another container with a dear old baby spoon...all on a beautiful old round plate. It used to be on a silver tray; but I fluff/change out vignettes. :)
I ALWAYS take my cup of coffee into the bathroom with me as I do my hair and makeup in the mornings. That one is a must:)
I can only workout in the mornings. As a faux finisher, by the time I get home in the afternoons, my energy to workout is non-existant. Plus, my days are 10 times better when I start them off with my workout, followed by a cup of coffee with my quiet time in the Word!
Love this list Tracy:)
I'm with y'all ladies...coffee as I get dressed is a must as is working out while the rest of my family is still catching zzz's.....my simple little pleasures that help to get my day going in the right direction.
Tracy, I always love reading your "Do you ever..." list. This one really hits home for me as I do most of them. Aaahhhh......
UUUMM...Yes to all...especially the great pair of jeans...Love jeans. Love this list Tracy!!
I am always writing lists. I have wish lists and goals and things I want to do and places I want to go. I love my lists. If only I could consolidate them into just one location. I write them wherever I am. I have one in my purse, one in a journal, one in another journal and so on. I actually do the things on my lists but it might take years to get to some of them. Every year I write "Pick strawberries with the kids and make pies" There is only a short season for picking strawberries and I miss it every year. I am going to really try this year.
I also write a list of the new clothes I need for the season. I have a cute pair of jean shorts picked out, they are the price of a full pair of jeans can't they just charge half? I also want a couple of dresses that I can wear with flip flops of ballet flats. I always use sunless tanning cream, put on my ankle bracelet and I'm ready for summer.
IM I am a list person too. Can't get through my day without that organization.
Do you wear "Rainbow" flip flops? They are all the rage here on the coast... A good leather well made flip flop!
Yep, I have Rainbows...love 'em! Must have for the summer!!
im - I love my lists too. I'm a paper person so the PDA/gadget calendar does not appeal to me. I have a Filofax (that fits in my handbag). It has a calendar in it and a place for notes, etc. I keep one list in it. I divide that 1 piece of paper: To Do, To Buy, Errands. It keeps me sane. Ha! Sometimes,if something is dire, I take a sticky note and plop it on the front of my Filofax (day planner). Everyone's organizational ways are different...and individual. :) Ta-ta...
Artist,
I don't know about "rainbow" flip flops...I will have to research. Do you own a pair?
IM, in the South you can't live without your rainbows!!! Google them and see. you'll be sold! We wear them down here with everything dress or casual. It's a coastal thing!
Oh yes, the rainbows are "the" flip flops to own here in Tennessee as well. Working with teenagers all the time, they are all I see!
I started my summer to do list in January while dreaming of warmer weather. Here are a few: Read some good books, grow some herbs in one of my big pots outside, take my kids on a train ride, go wading in a creek with my kids, have a few picnics, enjoy life!
Kate,
your list sounds like it will add up to an awesome summer....leisurely and fun....hope you get to do it all!
I love your to do lists which look so much like my lists!
Do you ever prepare your beach bag with a great book, sunscreen, shovel, bucket, towels and suit - all ready for a summer day at the beach! (oh, and of course a sketch-book to sketch at the beach!)
