Emotional surrender... returning home
Ah, the long, hot, lazy days of summer...... This time of year makes me squirrelly to be outside as much as possible... whether it's in my garden, out by the marsh, or out on our screen porch. Mind you, most weeks at the studio are insanely wild (and I love every minute of them... my head is literally spinning with the juicy goodness of it all... designing new fashion goodies for our holiday catalog... planning our next research trip... being inspired at every turn... but I digress!!). While I absolutely live for these moments (and think I would go crazy without the much-needed adrenaline rush)... it's the evenings and weekends spent at home that I seem to cherish the most. (Don't we all??) After a full day of rollicking in the marsh... or playing (read: weeding) out in the garden... it's great to gather out on the porch and sip ice cold lemonade (for the boys) or mojitos (for John and me). We have a fantastic screen porch enclosed on top of a huge stone slab facing the marsh... and this exquisite bamboo and rattan table set is the quintessential go-to item out there!! (I'll admit - we have surrendered... completely.) The boys absolutely love it as their game table during the afternoon (bonus that they're in the shade while the sun's rays are at their hottest). Then at night we clear it off and let them have their own "big kids" table during dinner. Summer entertaining is of course on my radar as well... and this charming set is simply smashing when we have guests! I've been known to push the table off to the side, toss a pretty throw over it, and create a lovely impromptu buffet... and then sprinkle the chairs here and there for extra seating. Or, when a favorite auntie offers to look after the boys (thanks, Robyn!!) John and I will enjoy an intimate evening for two, dining under the stars... (Function + Fantasy... Who knew?!) Mind you, if dining al fresco isn't your gig, this table and chair set is just as sweet perched in a breakfast nook... or as a lovely addition to an indoor sun porch for reading, playing games, and more! So, you know me...... I'd love to hear... Are you as smitten with this set as I am?!?!

I am just as smitten with this set. I especially love the throw drapped over the chair there:) I'm now obsessed with getting my yard all spiffed up (thanks the inspiration of you and my TP blogette friends)! Maybe I can get this set when I'm all set:)
Oh, Tracy....you've painted such a beautiful picture. Of course, I'm smitten! :)
I too love that beautiful throw as well as the table set.
Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. The weather here has been glorious and the beach beautiful. I did some great shell hunting. They are now included on my altar and add so much. (especially since I don't have boys finding skeletons....I needed something very natural!!!LOL) Priss did you spend the weekend on the beach too?
Jeanna darling, did you get back to Robyn's stores with that wine? I am so jealous. Can't wait for the videos!!!!!! hint hint
I am still in awe over these tiny bud vases...so beautiful!!
Everyone have a great week! xoxo
Hi All,
Jeanna thank you so much for coming to the store with your mom...It was so great to meet her, she is so cute. The wine was great ladies....Hope all had a great holiday weekend....take care.....
Robyn
Artist, Oh how I would love some beach time right about now. How is your bird's nest working?
I'm finally working on my "London Wall" My sweet husband just smiles when I call it that! Especially since I've never been. I should really just call it my "Tracy wall."
Alright Jeanna, we're ready for our report from you recent visit to Robyn's with wine!!!!! How lucky are you to have been twice already!!!!!!!
xoxo
Hi all! My summer's resolution is to get to the beach !! Sadly, I take it for granted, and do not get there much ARtist.....but, you have inspired me...I must go soon. I have looked at it, and had lunch by it, but haven't put the little piggies in the sand yet. HOwever,....now I will harken back to the recent past blogettes. Remember the red lips? Well, hubby and I went to a ballet in Charleston (Spoleto) saturday and I did the Mac red lips! My hubby loved 'em. Have you all had a red lips event lately??
Oh Priss, sounds so "uptown"!!! I love spoleto. Did you have fun? Haven't done a red lips affair lately. It seems our area is sooooooo casual in the summer.
What a glorious couple of days it has been!! (except the nights have been freezing, actually frost warnings!!) Anyhoo, yes Artist,.. Robyn's store is wonderful!!! Second time around, third, fourth, tenth, whatever.. it will always be fabulous !! She has out done herself, the layout, displays, everywhere you look is fantastic!! And my mom surprised me with the "golden ornate earrings"... they're lovely!! I literally wear them everyday! Lovely week girls!! ;)
Priss - you go with those MAC red lips! I've actually gone pink! And, that really is different for me! The Bobbi Brown counter decked me out in pink. Then, I read that pink lips help "some of us" aaaahuummm....at a certain age....look 10 years younger!! Woo-hoo! I'm all for that - no surgery or suction for me, thank you very much. Ha! Ta-ta...
Jeanna darling, so good to hear from you! I know the earrings are beautiful. May you wear them in good health ( as my mom says)!!
Tell us about the store. Does it have things from the catalogue and more? Also want to hear about Georges. What does it carry. We are browsing through you my dear!!
xoxo

Priss, I can't remember the last time I had an evening worthy of red lipstick. Maybe tomorrow night though, it's my 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!
Can't wait for more videos, would love to see the store. I'm excited about the new product development... I am salivating at the thought of never before seen Tracy Porter products:)
Glad you guys enjoyed the wine ;) Happy birthday to the boys,..what a beautiful day!!
Tracy...8 is such a sweet age....I am sure they are a big help with Gus too....happy birthday to your cute boys! I am sure they are looking forward to school getting out and summer beginning!
Virginia...you have inspired me to "go pink"...cause I am in that same certain age bracket...haha...the red is fun though!!
Melissa....HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!
Tracy, this time I am going to give you advice...if I may be so bold. Run and buy the book Tricia Guild Pattern if you don't already have it. For an artist it is an eye feast. One of the most inspiring books I've looked at in a long time. As I went through the pages, several paintings were conjured in my mind. The colors, the patterns ( she too loves flock) and the countries of her inspiration are endless. Being a creative person, I think you'll love it. I have several of her books. This is the best!
Oh, I too love Tricia Guilds books! her color sense and passion for patterns are quite luscious! I have seen that one, but not purchased it yet! she really seems like a lovely interesting person!
I always love book recommends, I will gladly take them anytime!!
thanks so much!!
Melissa hope you and the hubby had a great anniversary! Did he like your pancakes?
Thanks girls for the happy birthday wishes to the boys, we had a really great day!
xo
Artist, I have been eyeing that book in the bookstore and just haven't bought it yet. I am just now starting my book collection.
I think I haven't bought any because there are SO many I want. I can't decide which one to buy first (I have to do a little at a time...I'm on a budget), so I just don't get any.
I must say... I am loving my Tracy Porter book I got for my birthday a few months ago:)
Tracy, ahhhh the pancakes. Well, I went to the store and got all my ingredients. When I woke the next morning to start cooking, my husband had beat me to it and had a plethora of breakfast food prepared for me.
I plan on making the pancakes this weekend now:) I can't wait!
Tracy, will we get store videos this week? We are all so excited!
